Few people have been asking where did I attended for sewing class, some even thought that I learned myself! Nah. I wish I can do so, but I’m not a good at self-learning. So, today I thought of sharing about the sewing class I have been to for the past 3 years until now :)

It’s NKSB Academic Fashion which is located opposite Melaka Sentral, a line with Al-Ikhsan, Cosway, Courts, etc. If you are Malaccan, you might be familiar with the area. Seriously I love everything about the sewing class. From the location, to the environment, to the course, to the tutor. She is so lovely! Ok, now let’s read about my personal review on the sewing class.

  • Facilities
The location is just perfect for those without transportation. It’s near the bus terminal. If you opt to drive, need not to worry about the parking fee because it’s only RM1 per entrance! :) There are few cafes and fast foods around the area to lunch. The class is also provided with a praying room for muslim.

  • Environment
During the learning section, you can do your work while enjoying the music from radio. The favourite channels are usually sinar.fm, melaka.fm, and ikim.fm. The classmates are all very humble and friendly too! It’s so easy to get along with them.

  • Packages
There are few packages offered by the class. For a beginner, or intermediate, or pakaian tradisional, etc. All of the packages included different patterns with different charges. Some packages are provided with certificate or diploma.

As for me, I’m currently taking the beginner package and will be qualified with a certificate (hehe). The package does include 10 + 2 patterns: 10 which are already included in the package plus 2 that can be chosen by me.

  • Cost
The total cost for the beginner package is RM400+. Personally I can say that it’s a totally worth it! You are free to learn until you are truly expert and satisfied with all of the patterns included in the package. No time limit or extra charges if you wish to re-do any of the patterns. Most of all, the tutor is always very patience in assisting the students ♥

After all, this is not a paid up advertorial. I’m writing this just to share about the excitement and benefits that I have gained along the 3 years. In case you are interested to learn sewing and are looking for a sewing class, this is definitely a perfect place for you.

To date, I have managed to sew 2 tops as my work attire :) One in navy blue whiles the other one in apple green. I immediately fell in love with the fabrics when I first saw them in Jakel, they are silky and shinny!

This time, I decided to implement peasant blouse collar and cuffed sleeves as the details. Still I just couldn’t get enough of cuffed that I decided to add it on the bottom part. But it’s ended up the top looks bigger than it should be and only makes me look extra large in it. Haha.

So for the apple green top, I did rather play safe and try to make it as simple as possible. I used the previous pattern but remove the cuff and lengthen the bottom part.

After all, I’m much more satisfied by the outcome ♥ Though it’s not finished yet as I haven’t hem the bottom, add up button holes, and sew some buttons on the sleeves.

The navy blue top,

and the apple green top.
